Combating rising damp
Rising damp represents one of the main problems both in Venice and in many homes around the world. Thanks to the system designed by Warmset together with the technical firm AAG, we are able to eliminate this age-old problem and upgrade buildings that for years have been in the grip of degradation caused by water.
ANTI-RISING DAMP HEATERS FOR VENICE
(AND NOT ONLY VENICE)
Over time, many techniques have been used in Venice to combat the problem of rising damp in the walls of buildings. In terms of blocking phenomena of capillary rising damp that have existed for thousands of years, with abnormal water content in the walls, as is well known the problem of degradation is found in the city due to its specific environmental conditions.
All buildings and structures in Venice, destined for residential, commercial or public use, churches, bell towers, foundations and bridges have a solid brick masonry structure, resting on relatively permeable ground, are exposed to a saline-rich environment and are often lapped by brackish water. Added to this is the aggression caused by pollutants which, if conveyed by the rising water, penetrate into the depth of porous stone materials.
THE PRODUCT: CYAN 100% Stop rising damp in the city of Venice
The project CYAN 100% fits into this context, proposing the application of a low-consumption electrical radiation system under the plaster or inside the masonry, indicating infrared as a constantly active solution to dry rising damp inside Venice’s perimeter walls. Moreover, thanks to the constructional composition of the system, the product applied is interesting due its easy installation and the fact that it can switched on from the earliest stages of the works.
The product is inserted directly into the milled wall and, by emitting heat at a constant temperature of 15°C, is able to dry the wall in a very short time, becoming a barrier that prevents rising damp from forming once again.
