The power of far infrared

Warmpanel® PIG uses state-of-the-art technology based on far infrared rays (FIR), or IR-C, to spread heat. These rays, similar to those emitted naturally by the sun, are completely safe and do not damage the pigs’ eyes or tissues. What makes them so special?

FIR rays transmit heat through electromagnetic waves, which are transformed into heat when they come into contact with a body. This means that heat is spread uniformly and instantly, providing an optimal temperature for the piglets with no hot or cold spots.

Say goodbye to conventional lamps

Have you ever used common incandescent bulbs to warm the space for your piglets?

These lamps, often called “infrared”, may seem like a good solution, but in actual fact they have many limitations. Unlike Warmpanel® PIG, conventional lamps emit heat mainly through visible light, causing little effective heating. This often makes the piglets group together under the light, increasing the risk of crushing and discomfort.
Furthermore, the lamps have a limited lifespan and must be replaced regularly, which is costly; instead, Warmpanel® PIG is designed to last through time, reducing costs in the long-term.

Warmpanel® PIG can heat in an efficient and targeted way, without heating the surrounding air. Its infrared rays generate a concentrated beam of heat that reaches bodies and surfaces directly, maintaining an optimal temperature for your piglets without overheating the space. Furthermore, you don’t need to worry about harmful electrical or electromagnetic fields, as Warmpanel® PIG has been designed with safety in mind.

A world of advantages

Warmpanel® PIG radiant panels take around 90 seconds to reach steady state temperature, which tends to maintain its effect on the irradiated surfaces with significant thermal reactivity.

Output is close to 100%! This is because it takes place through the conversion of an energy carrier (electricity) into another energy carrier (represented by the FIR), which provides unprecedented efficiency and operating savings.

The heat produced is more evenly spread and comfortable. The feeling of warmth perceived is more natural, without the sensation of “stuffiness”, with humidity and condensate on the floor. Lower humidity also means less evaporation due to slow drying (the latent evaporation heat subtracts heat useful for the piglets) through convective motion.

The surface temperature of Warmpanel® PIG is much lower than that of lamps, which have a temperature of 180° on the surface of the bulb. The temperature is of just 80-90 °C, but the output reaching the ground (at a distance of around 50 cm) is around 30 °C. This means that the output reaching the ground is much higher than the output obtained with conventional lamps, without causing discomfort or burns.

Unlike lamps, FIR radiant panels operate at low temperature on a very wide localized surface.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING AND FOOTBOARD HEATING

It is not just humans who need heat! Underfloor heating provides greater comfort for breeding farm animals and eliminates the risk of neonatal death.This type of underfloor heating can be positioned:

  • under the screed or the resins of the breeding farm;
  • through radiant footboards, similar to those used for heating in industry.

It is important to size the system according to the animals’ needs and to constantly monitor them, to avoid overtemperatures or causing harm to the animals.
